Dog Potty Train Easily
One of the most important aspects of looking after Dogs is Potty training. Dog Potty Training is vital and should be started as soon as possible. Whatever the age of your Dog you need to get it trained as soon as possible.
Today we will look at one of the most important parts of learning how to house train and that is praise.
Praise goes such a long way in getting your Dog to act how you wish and is very important for all aspects of training. Praise is especially important when it comes to getting your Dog to go toilet where you want it to.
The main idea is to give an awful lot of praise whenever your Dog goes Potty outside.
The best way to go about it is as follows:
Whenever you are at home ensure you take the Dog outside as often as possible. For Puppies this will be very often indeed but make sure you do it often for whatever the age is of your Dog.
You need to then hang around outside for as long as it takes for your Dog to do its business.
As soon as your Dog does do its business you must give it a special reward. Not food but praise. There is nothing a Dog likes more than being praised for its behaviour. It is in their nature to please and if it feels it is doing a good thing it will be more willing to do it in the future.
If the Dog has an accident in the house do not be mean and shout. Try just ignoring the Dog. It will know you are not pleased. Then, when you praise it for going about its business outside it will quickly learn the difference in behaviour and the response it gets from you.
This may seem like a simple solution but it is one that is often overlooked by owners. Keep taking the Dog outside, ensure especially that it goes last thing at night as well. You may also have to set an alarm in the night to let it out as well. You can keep doing this, gradually putting the time forward until you are back to a regular alarm call. It may seem like hard work but a few weeks of interrupted sleep is worth it to Potty train as quickly as possible.
